Bread of the Mighty Food Bank is a private non-profit organization that was founded in 1987. We collect, sort, store and distribute donated food and basic essentials to more than 170 non-profit partner agencies such as food pantries, homeless shelters and other feeding organizations who directly feed the hungry. We serve 5 North Central Florida Counties- Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette, and Levy. We are a Partner Distribution Organization under Feeding America. More and more of our donated food is fresh and perishable and cannot sit in the warehouse, therefore, we established the Food on the Move program to be sure the food reaches those in need quickly. Every $1.00 donated can provide 7 meals to those in need.
