Bo's Place exists to enhance the lives of those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Bo's Place serves as Houston's premier grief support center for children, teens, parents/guardians, and adults. Bo's Place was founded in 1990 as The Grief Center of Texas by two community members after their own grief experiences and realization of the unmet need for comprehensive grief support services in Houston for children, teens, and their families. In 1995, The Grief Center became Bo's Place, a bereavement center named in memory of Laurence Bosworth Neuhaus, Jr., a Houstonian who died at the age of 12. After receiving a terminal diagnosis, he lived his life with conviction that we can accept death as a part of life and strive for healthy grieving that honors our loved ones, a belief that embodies Bo's Place programs. Bo's family remains actively engaged and supportive of Bo's Place.
